The Corona Quilt Project comes to life in a diverse array of installations, scattered throughout Mumbai city. The presentation has been put together by artist Dia Mehhta Bhupal and focuses around the theme ‘Rise.’
The GIAHC squares are on Worli Seaface BMC School and Jindal Mansion on Peddar Road. “On the Rise“, the presentation on the BMC School Worli Seaface, wraps around the facade of the building with over 5000 individual narratives coming together. It draws a parallel from the butterfly- a symbol of transformation, evolution and resurrection. “A Rising Sun” at Jindal Mansion wraps around the facade of the building with1339 individual stories. It draws a parallel from the landscape of Mumbai with the sun rising along the coastline.
The other Corona Quilt presentation honours the frontline workers. “Warriors Rise” is a montage of portraits presented on the facade of the Haji Ali Pumping Station.
The installations can seen for the next few weeks.
